Masi Campofiorin $25.99. The original Supervenetian created by Masi in 1964, a Veneto wine of stupendous body and complexity, inspired by the Amarone production method. The wine is full-bodied, smooth and velvety, but approachable and versatile in its food pairings.
Masi Costasera Amarone $67.99. 95 Points James Suckling, "This opens beautifully to reveal violets, blueberries, licorice, citrus, oyster shell and orange rind. So velvety and polished, but with real depth and structure. Medium-to full-bodied with delightful fruit and a long finish. "
Masi Costasera Riserva Amarone $90.99. 95 Points, James Suckling: "Aromas of smoke and wet earth with coffee beans and pumice to the ripe fruit. Full-bodied, linear and layered with lots of ripe fruit and hints of raisins. Lightly chewy with a tannin backbone. Extremely long and powerful. Blue and black fruit. Very complex.
Masi Serego Alighieri Vaio Amarone $95.99. This is the icon wine of the historic Serego Alighieri estate and an important Amarone with extraordinary power and complexity: a classic in the Italian winemaking portfolio. The colour is a deep, bright, ruby red. The nose complex, carrying notes of super-ripe cherries with baked plums. On the palate are "illusions of sweetness", cherry and berry fruit tastes. Spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla.
Masi Mazzano Amarone $141.99. From the Mazzano vineyard in Negrar, the Masi 2012 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Mazzano shows more ripeness, volume and roundness compared to its sibling from Campolongo di Torbe. It feels like this wine also has a bit more sweetness, and this adds lots of life and brightness to its underlying aromas of black cherry confit and blackberry preserves. Mazzano also shows a distinctly savory spice with old spice, cured tobacco and a hint of smoked bresaola or bacon.
